No makeup selfie! I'm a BIG advocate of skin health and following a skin care routine. My Swedish and Irish skin is fair and sensitive! I do my best to care for it by eating well, moving my body, wearing sunscreen and using PURE beauty products.

I believe that beautiful skin is created and maintained from the inside out. The right food and supplements combined with healthy lifestyle and mindset changes can keep your skin healthy at any age.

SKIN ISSUES?

Most skin issues are the result of chronic inflammation and the natural aging process. Chronic inflammation can lead to acne, breakouts, skin unevenness, wrinkles, fine lines, and redness.

WHAT TO DO?

The focus of a good skincare program should be incorporating dietary and lifestyle measures to help you age gracefully and minimize chronic inflammation in the skin.

Step 1: Follow an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich diet.

Step 2: Avoid foods that promote inflammation, like processed carbohydrates, fried and fast foods.

Step 3: Stay well-hydrated.

Step 4: Exercise regularly

Step 5: Get at least seven hours’ sleep

Step 6: Please don’t smoke.

Step 7: Regularly practice stress management.

Step 8: Reduce/Avoid alcohol.

Step 9: Prevent skin damage by using sunscreen

Step 10: Choose creams and beauty products carefully, avoiding those with parabens and phthalates.

ROUTINE

I’m a big believer in following a daily skin care routine. Speak with your dermatologist or skin care specialist for a regimen that works exactly for your skin type. However, although moisturizers, creams, serums and toners are important, the true secret to skin health goes beyond the surface. In fact, getting in a good variety of vitamins for skin either through the diet or through supplementation is just as crucial.
